The entry into force of EU Regulation 2016/79 has required us to change some conditions on the processing of personal data and security. ZanZan Travel guarantees maximum transparency. In this document you will find all the information to use the services provided, so as to know what data we collect, the reason, for how long and where they are stored.
ZanZan Travel is an app created and managed by developers based in Italy that offers an ecosystem for travel organization and logistical and financial sharing. Although this is a global application, your data is processed in accordance with the European GDPR, regardless of your location.
The administrative and development headquarters are located in Italy, therefore ZanZan Travel is subject to Italian and European laws. We are always attentive to the privacy and security of our users, taking all necessary measures to ensure a safe and transparent service. By using the ZanZan Travel app, you consent to the collection, storage, processing and transfer of your information on our servers covered by security measures (and possible end-to-end encryption where applicable), in the terms described in this statement.
The data controller for ZanZan Travel guarantees you compliance with the rules regarding the protection of personal data. We guarantee total transparency regarding the processing of data that you have voluntarily communicated to us (profile photo, email, username) or when the system collects them to guarantee the correct functionality of the app.
When you use our services or browse the app, we may collect the information you provide (e.g. GPS locations, chat messages, surveys). All this private information is stored on secure servers and used exclusively for:
- provision of essential cloud service (Map, Charges etc.)
- obtain anonymous statistical information on routes or logistical trends
- fraud prevention and to offer dedicated assistance in case of problems.
Note about Documents: Documents imported or stored within the App (e.g. airline tickets, reservations or passport photos) are never imported, uploaded or saved to our operational databases. They reside exclusively and in offline format on the user's device within local sectors protected by their Operating System (Sandboxing).
In many cases you voluntarily provide us with information, for example:
- Access data. Access and registration on our application take place absolutely exclusively via secure ID systems (Google ID and Apple ID). For this reason ZanZan Travel does not own, manage or save the individual passwords of its users in any database.
- Compilation of costs for division into common fund;
- Trip details on companions and timeline.
By providing us with this information, you consent to it being collected, used, and stored by us limitedly for the proper functioning of the app.
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or for as long as is strictly necessary to provide you with the necessary App services.
The user has the complete right to permanently delete his data from the user panel (implementation of the Right to be Forgotten), causing an immediate "hard wipe" from our main databases, without prejudice to the technical timing of removal of recursive backups and any billing data maintained for exclusive fiscal or legal purposes within the terms established by current laws.
Your data will only be used for the following purposes:
- Provision of core services: Division of funds, mutual geolocation (when active between members), update notifications or internal organization chat.
- Billing and Premium: Secure processing and recording of in-app purchase transactions or physical/digital orders.
- System alerts: Temporary changes to systems, communication of data breaches or mandatory forced updates of legacy versions.
- Legal issues: We will respond, where applicable by law, to legitimate and justified requests from public authorities responsible for safety matters.
Personal data will NEVER be transferred to third parties for marketing purposes outside the company platform without your explicit consent. Disclosure to physical infrastructure partners (providers for Server Hosts, e-mail providers for notifications) takes place in accordance with clear operational tasks covered upstream by professional secrecy. We may ultimately transfer your information collectively in the event of a sale, acquisition or merger, but only by committing ourselves in advance to inform the user by email confirming the same standards of protection.
Travellers can correct or remove any part of their personal history at any time. Furthermore, users have the right and complete power to sever any ties by permanently unsubscribing (via the "Delete Account" button in the app), blocking further sessions and extinguishing their profile and personal data from the ZanZan Travel Community in accordance with the GDPR.
